Why do veterinary exams have to be annual?
A lot can happen in a year. Certain medical conditions go undiagnosed because animals instinctively hide their weaknesses to avoid appearing vulnerable. When they come in for a thorough wellness check, we’ll be able to detect these invisible issues before they cause long term damage or become fatal. Neglecting to come in each year can cause a problem to develop beyond repair.
What happens during a veterinary exam?
During a veterinary exam, we check your pet’s weight, perform bloodwork, and physically examine their body for lumps or abrasions. We’ll also ask you questions to learn about your pet’s lifestyle, home environment and behaviour. The information we collect from our tests and through conversation determines the kind of medical support your pet will need. If we notice a change in their weight, we may suggest weight management.
